Current Theme: Mechanics of Active Matter
ABOUT ME
I am a Boston University Postdoctoral Associate of Mechanical Engineering. I obtained my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State University (NMSU), USA in 2017. I was an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Abu Dhabi University, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The ultimate goal of my research on the Mechanics of Advanced Materials is to innovate multidisciplinary approaches of making advanced material systems that can optimize performance of various engineering applications. Specifically, this research aims to extend well-established notions from mechanics and physics to explore new possibilities of harnessing nontraditional phenomena of complex material systems for aerospace, medical, automotive, and defense applications. This research covers various topics of mechanics and physics of advanced materials and mechanical systems including active matter, metamaterials, nano-confined fluids, nano-mechanical systems, advanced manufacturing technologies, e.g., additive manufacturing and severe plastic deformation.
The current theme of my research is Mechanics of Active Matter, in which the activity of living and synthetic active materials are explored, a multidisciplinary framework of mechanics and physics of autonomous active matter is developed, and various biomimetic active materials are designed.
I am the author of over 55 journal articles appeared in journals such as Scientific Reports, Langmuir, Mechanics of Materials, and Physical Review Applied. I am an academic editor of Mathematical Problems in Engineering, an academic member of Athens Institute for Education and Research, and a member of ACS, ASME and AIAA. I received the Best Master Thesis Award from Zagazig University (2013), the Merit-based Enhancement Award from NMSU (2016), and the Outstanding Graduate Award of NMSU for Spring 2017.
